You will need to purchase a strong set of LCD brackets, in order to successfully mount your television onto the wall. The brackets come in a variety of sizes to accommodate the various size TVs available so it is important to purchase the correct one, otherwise your television will fall off the wall and come crashing down. When purchasing your brackets, in order to purchase the correct type, you will need to take into consideration the width, length and weight of your LCD television.

There are numerous types of LCD brackets, each with different features. Most of them are adjustable, enabling you to tilt and swivel your television for better viewing. Some are made to fix the television directly to the wall, this adds extra stability, but limits your ability to reposition it if needed. Others have a moving arm that holds the television and allows you to move it into various positions as needed.

The wall that you are mounting your television on should also be considered, prior to mounting. You want to be sure that the wall you choose will be able to bear the weight of the television, otherwise you are risking damage to both the wall and your television. When choosing your bracket you always want to check the instructions before purchase, as well, because different brackets work on different walls. For example, some brackets need to be placed directly on studs, where as others need to go directly into wood or cinder block walls.

The last aspect you need to consider when you purchase your brackets is managing the cables that you will be attaching to the television. I honestly feel it is a distraction when you are watching television and there is a mess of cables running into and around it. Many companies now offer mountable brackets to hold your cables out of the way, which keeps the distraction to a minimum.
